My Approach

My primary approach to treatment is cognitive - this simply means that I believe your thoughts matter. I believe that what you tell yourself has a significant impact on how you feel and ultimately how you behave. Our work together will aim to modify entrenched and unhelpful thoughts that interfere with you living the life you want.

Cognitive therapy is active, focused on skill development, and goal attainment. Our relationship is fundamental, as we both play a role in any successful therapeutic outcome. My priority is to create a safe, supportive, and accepting environment for us to work together.

I often incorporate and lean into other successful evidence-based treatment modalities. This includes techniques, strategies, and skills from Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Attachment theory.

Treatment is individualized and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. We will work together to form a foundation of trust, respect, and openness.
